Born into a military family, Janine grew up immersed in diverse cultures across the globe. Education and Research
Janine’s academic journey spans cross-cultural psychology, resilience, and altered states of consciousness. At Lawrence University, her research in Pune, India, examined how family structures influence achievement motivation. Later, at Harvard University School of Public Health, she investigated the impact of community cohesion on mental health. Janine earned her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on resilience and consciousness studies. Her dissertation validated the efficacy of her Time Out program in fostering resilience in executives.
Professional Contributions
As a trailblazer in stress management and meditation in the workplace, Janine has coached thousands of high-level executives and government leaders worldwide. Her firm, Sagert & Associates, Inc., introduced transformative practices to corporate environments, enhancing productivity and well-being. She co-founded The Clarksville Experience, an initiative designed to help professional women align their core values with their multifaceted roles. Currently, she serves on the board of Limina Foundation and is helping produce a psychedelic conference, The Enchanted State.

Her visits to his ashram in Tiruvannamalai, India, have deepened her understanding of his timeless teachings and influenced her approach to helping others integrate spiritual insight into their daily lives.
